I love this time of the year. It’s a season for gratefulness. It’s a season for giving gratitude for the harvest of thought, action and progress manifested in our lives!
One of my favorite songs in my sacred repertoire, “Simple Praise,” is one that I performed many times in church as well as recorded on my “Story For The Ages” CD. It seems absolutely fitting to share with you now.

Over the course of 2 years, I was privileged to spend time working and recording with 8 amazing women to create my new CD, Duets — Woman 2 Woman — Conversations With Wise Women In My Life.
The CD was just released not quite 2 weeks ago, and I’m thrilled to share its treasures with you, namely, the women of Duets: (clockwise from top right) Georgia Engel, Jan Horvath, Margaret Imrie, Gwen Eagleton, Margaret Dorn, Emily Bindiger, Cynthia Clawson, Jenny Burton)
I am going to begin the story of this CD by posting here my summary conclusion of the CD’s digital liner notes found in the free downloadable digibook. (more…)

“Sometimes we are lucky enough to know our lives have been changed, to discard the old and embrace the new and run headlong down an immutable course. It happened to me… on that summer’s day when my eyes were opened to the sea.”
DEEP WATERS, my latest project, is a gorgeous new CD composed and conceived by Peter Link. It is a suite of 3 songs surrounded by hauntingly beautiful orchestral interludes.
From the very beginning of this project, I found myself submersed in the watery metaphor of the mariner’s tale that pervades this piece. I realized through the course of this work that in my own life I have observed the metaphor, lived it, and come out the other side. I believe most of us have when we think about the individual stories of our lives. (more…)

To My Readers:
Just as we head into summer, I give you my Spring 2013 Newsletter. It’s a snapshot update from January to April. This was delivered as a newsletter to my email list and never made it on to my blog. Please forgive this apparent neglect. Life got going fast with touring, recording and major shifts at my parent company, Watchfire Music. I found myself in deep with it all! So here’s a catch up of what’s been going on.
Coming up next: New CD, DEEP WATERS, to be released June 11th
and a blog article on … applause!
Dear Friends! With the events of Boston so fully on our minds, and of Waco, Texas, too, I begin this newsletter with a song for you. Here’s an anthem of profound peace and unconditional love, When He Walks With Me by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Julie Gold. Just click here to listen and share with others. I hope it brings new inspiration to your day!
Has spring swept you off of your feet yet with warm breezes? Here in NYC, in between 40-degree days, Mother Nature keeps throwing us little bursts of the warm weather to come. I can’t wait for it to officially arrive! But I can’t complain, either …
… I’ve recently been on the road a lot, concertizing in some beautiful tropical places in between all the cold and storm. The first quarter of 2013 was filled with great music and diverse, wonderful audiences in diverse, wonderful places. Click here to check out where I’ve been: Notes from the Road: First Quarter 2013.

Yes, it’s here! I’m excited! Today marks the first full day out in the world for
SILK ROAD – Inspirational Journeys Across Planet Earth.
Having officially released this new CD just last night, I’m feeling grateful and, I admit, anxious over my newborn. I’m celebrating, and fluttering nervously over my babe! It’s been quite a journey getting this child out into broad daylight. I want her to feel GOOD in the sun!
Well, like any parent, made new again by this new arrival, the new adventure begins! This new CD gets to live and breathe in the world. My hope and intention is that it will open some hearts and provoke some thoughtful responses at the very least. (To read the first 6 parts of this blog series, click here.)
The creation process of this CD has certainly changed me. It brought me further along in my own personal and artistic evolution. I think that’s the most important part for me: Evolution. I don’t EVER want to stop learning, exploring and discovering …
This project, SILK ROAD, symbolizes my quest to keep doing just those things.
Before I go any further, though, it seems like I ought to talk a little about the title song, Silk Road. It’s the third track on the CD. That’s an important spot on any album.
