KarmaTube and Gratefulness

I don’t remember how I discovered it, but somewhere in the last year, I became a huge fan and subscriber of KarmaTube.com. It may have been a forwarded email, or maybe I stumbled on to it while doing a Google search. However it happened, KarmaTube.com showed up and I got hooked.

I signed up to receive the KarmaTube Video of the Week, and each Friday an email notice lands in my in-box. I can hardly wait to get to Friday morning to receive a new infusion of Inspiration.

On a typical morning, I get up while the house is quiet — my husband is still asleep, the phone isn’t ringing yet, and I get settled to do my spiritual workout. On Fridays, this includes firing up my computer to get that KarmaTube email.

Then I go get my hot, comfy drink, — my homemade version of a decaf latte with nonfat milk – the espresso made in my funky little Italian “macchina del caffe”, the milk nuked in the microwave — and then all poured into one nice big mug.

With latte in hand, it’s finally Friday Morning Inspirational Viewing Time! KarmaTube’s Videos of the Week range far and wide in topic and format: some are music videos, some are talks, some are stories, while others are reports. Each one amplifies KarmaTube’s slogan, “Be the change” in a unique way. Some videos strike a stronger chord with me than others, but the majority of them give me pause: they fill me with wonder, fuel my imagination and hone my spiritual insight. They inspire me to action.

Here is (so far) my all-time favorite video of the week: “A Good Day.” It is a short film on being grateful. I return to it often – it’s bookmarked on my browser. Apparently it’s also the favorite of thousands of people: it was the video that received “the largest number of forwards of any KarmaTube video prior to being named a Video of the Week.”

The writer and narrator of the video, Brother David Steindl-Rast combines his simple, profound thoughts on gratefulness with amazing images. Beautiful, meditative music powerfully underscores the message throughout.

So check it out. Discover KarmaTube.com. Start here with Brother David Steindl-Rast’s “A Good Day.”

Thanks, Julia, for your words about Karma Tube. I checked into Karma Tube to see the gratefulness video. I see what you mean. Five and a half minutes of gorgeous inspiration and sweet reminders of how we can and must be grateful for all the little things each day. Wow! Which reminds me of how grateful I am for the beautiful sharing you do every week with your beautiful solo music at The Mother Church that I share with friends every week. Thank you!
